    Born in Tel Aviv and trained in the USA, conductor Israel Gursky joined Theater Regensburg during the 2014-15 season. At Theater Regensburg he has conducted performances of Madama Butterfly, Rigoletto, Die Zauberflöte, Così fan Tutte, Hans Heiling (Marschner), Saul (Händel), Der Vogelhändler (Zeller) and Im Weissen Rössl (Benatzky), and this season he will lead a new production of Gluck's Iphigénie en Tauride.

    This past season, he has conducted concerts with Plácido Domingo in Beijing, Belgrade and Regensburg, a gala with Operalia winners in Györ, Hungary, and Teatro Grattacielo's 20th Anniversary Concert In New York City. This fall he returns to Teatro Grattacielo to lead Giordano's Siberia, having previously conducted their critically-acclaimed performances of Montemezzi's La Nave in 2012 and Alfano's Sakuntala in 2013...
